Milaha and the University of Doha for Science and Technology Sign MoU to Foster Collaboration and Develop Qatar’s Future Maritime Workforce

Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. (“Milaha”), the industry leading provider of maritime and logistics solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), Qatar’s first national applied university, to advance cooperation in education, research, and workforce development across the maritime and logistics sectors. 

The MoU was signed by Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Al-Qahtani, Milaha’s Group Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Salem Bin Nasser Al-Naemi, President of UDST, at the university’s campus in Doha. 

Under this partnership, Milaha and UDST will collaborate on aligning academic programs with industry needs, developing specialized training and certification courses, and creating internship and career pathways for students. 

The agreement also supports joint research in areas such as marine sustainability, digitalization, automation, and decarbonization. Milaha will contribute its industry expertise through participation in advisory committees, guest lectures, and seminars, while benefiting from access to UDST’s Marine Training Center and simulation facilities for employee upskilling and certification aligned with global standards. 

Commenting on the signing, Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Al-Qahtani said: “At Milaha, we are committed to cultivating Qatar’s future maritime and logistics leaders. Our partnership with UDST reflects a shared commitment to applied learning, innovation, and building a highly skilled, future-ready workforce.” 

Dr. Salem Bin Nasser Al-Naemi, President of UDST, stated: “This collaboration with Milaha reflects our ongoing efforts to align education with industry needs. By integrating real-world expertise into our programs, we aim to empower our students with practical skills and hands-on training that prepare them to excel in Qatar’s dynamic maritime and logistics fields.” 

Through this MoU, Milaha and UDST reaffirm their commitment to Qatar National Vision 2030 by supporting national talent development, enhancing research, and contributing to the sustainable growth of the maritime and logistics industries.
