Job Objectives:

To ensure highest professional industry standards of Ship repair, electrical equipment repair, maintenance and production practices in accordance with the section quality procedures and quality manuals.

To work as a leader, coach and coordinate the team for on time completion of the projects and to improve the day- to- day work activities and facilities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for end-to-end timely jobs/assignments’ execution, team coordination and leadership; coordination with other sections for support; follow up on jobs/assignments, report the progress and request support from Line Manager (if and when required) in order to accomplish the activities at the earliest>
  • Responsible for Assistant Foreman and other team members’ performance
  • Coordinate with other section’s personnel in order to accomplish the activities on time and request for support from the Line Manager in case of any bottle necks
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and work towards improvement of team members and facility/tools/equipment
  • Ensure strict supervision of team personnel towards maximum productivity and efficiency with safety and quality first in mind
  • Follow up strictly the assignments, organize and coordinate to execute the tasks/activities as per the approved documentation (drawings, specifications and procedures)
  • Supervise the process of requesting materials /services for electrical works and follow up regarding delivery with Procurement Dept.
  • Ensure regular housekeeping is performed and workplaces are maintained in high standard conditions
  • Supervise the process of calibration of electrical equipment in coordination with QA/QC section and ensure its implementation
  • Supervise work execution within the assigned budgeted hours and ensure that accurate bookings are maintained
  • Plan and project manpower requirements and perform trainings to subordinates
  • Report any deviation from schedule and inform in advance Manager – Production for any risks, deviations and issues expected
  • Ensure that job completion reports are submitted to Client for approval
  • Maintain quality records updated and ensure job history is available for all attended jobs
  • Ensure each team member has all the necessary tools, equipment, specifications, drawings and procedures to properly accomplish their jobs. Monitor reworks trends and implement corrective/preventative actions
  • Ensure that all works are carried out in a safe and high-quality manner and in compliance with the division’s HSSE, Quality Assurance procedures, Quality Manuals and super yachts standards for engine repairs and overhauls
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Electrical Diploma
  • 5-10 years’ experience in the field of marine electrical repair
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Heavy industry experience in electrical equipment
  • Shipyard experience is required.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and web applications>
  • Working knowledge of English (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of Hindi will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of ship repair yard functions and activities
  • Ability to read the installation, start up and operation manual and follow systems/equipment start-ups procedures and troubleshooting
  • Ability to prepare reports
  • Good knowledge of installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintaintenance of various electrical systems, AC system, controls, and equipment either on board vessels or in shipyard facilities
  • Familiar with distribution and control wiring involving the proper installation of AC and DC circuits and devices
