Given its awareness of the growing role of sports in enhancing the physical and mental health of its employees, Milaha, Qatar’s leading Maritime and Logistics provider, has organized various virtual sports events on the occasion of Qatar National Sports Day, which is considered an unprecedented, unique initiative in the region, celebrated annually on the second Tuesday of February, in response to the Emiri decree No. 80 of 2011
Milaha’s daily sports program continued throughout the last week, and featured many various classes and sports activities, including physical fitness exercises, high-intensity interval training, yoga exercises, in addition to nutrition and life coaching classes.
By holding this virtual sports event, Milaha is keen to consolidate the sports culture within the work environment, to maintain a sustainable healthy lifestyle, due to growing role of sports in building a healthy society, that can effectively contribute to the growth and development process.
On this occasion, Mr. Abdulrahman Essa Al-Mannai, Milaha President and CEO said: “Our keenness to organize virtual sports events on the occasion of the National Sports Day, despite the current circumstances, stems from our belief in developing and maintaining the people’s physical, mental and professional capabilities, as well as enhancing positive communication, strengthening social ties and ensuring our employees wellbeing”.
