Job responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to the maritime & offshore related business unit personnel and management
  • Ensure effective management of legal and contractual risks on all maritime and offshore related activities of the company
  • Advise the General Counsel and Management Leadership Team on legal and compliance matters as and when necessary
  • Provide ad-hoc advice on specified legal topics concerning maritime & offshore business units
  • Review, draft, amend and negotiate the legal aspects of commercial contracts, tender documents, charter-parties, business/purchase agreements, general terms and conditions, non-disclosure agreement, contracts, etc…

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Law or equivalent (Common Law License)
  • 8–10 years of experience in an area of shipping practice out of which 2-3 years in an in-house counsel role
  • Business fluent English, Arabic skills advantageous
  • Fully conversant with the maritime laws of the UK and similar regulations globally.
  • Strong knowledge of admiralty law, UN maritime conventions, port state regulations, employment laws, and O&G chartering practice
