Job duties and responsibilities

  • Provide legal service and lead cross-functional teams on all major transactions like acquisitions, mergers, JV’s, partnerships, legal restructuring, deal-structuring, financing and investments
  • Liaise with the relevant business units and partners to understand the strategy of the transaction and advise on the legal effect of the terms and conditions
  • Negotiate, draft, amend and review all corporate/support services and non-maritime commercial related agreements
  • Provide ad-hoc advice on specified legal topics concerning business units on matters related to corporate affairs, commercial agreements, procurement, taxation and corporate transactions
  • Advise the General Counsel and Management Leadership Team on legal and compliance matters as and when necessary

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Law or equivalent (Common Law License)
  • 8–10 years of experience in area of corporate practice out of which 2-3 years in an in-house counsel role
  • Business Fluent English, Arabic skills advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of company law, commercial laws, employment laws, IPR, and corporate transactions such as M&A, financing, JV setup etc…
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, tender management, legal risks management and administration processes
