Milaha underlined its commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle among its employees and the community at large by celebrating the Qatar National Sport Day with a fun-filled day of sporting activities.

The activities ranged from popular sports such as soccer, volleyball, cricket, and basketball to less known sports such as sumo wrestling and human foosball. Employees from across the Milaha group participated in the activities along with their families. Approximately 1300 adults and children enjoyed the day out at Al-Arabi Sports Club in Doha.

Taking part in the activities, Milaha’s Chairman and Managing Director H.E. Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani thanked HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the government for recognizing the importance of sports, and added that this day is “another example of how our country has proudly become a beacon in the international sports arena as we are one of the few countries in the world that have a day dedicated to celebrating sports and health-promoting activities.”

For his part, Mr. Khalifa Ali Al-Hetmi, President and CEO of Milaha, reiterated Milaha’s commitment to promoting sports through the participation of its employees in various sport leagues, particularly cricket and soccer, across the country throughout the year. Mr. Al Hetmi added that “our Milaha Rangers sports team’s achievements bring great pride to the group already, and this day is an excellent opportunity for everyone else in the company to participate in sporting activities as well.”
